Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles

Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles

RESULT: AJ Styles via pinfall.
THOUGHTS: This was actually a really fun match. Nice!

AJ Styles got what he wanted — a big-time match at The Ultimate Thrill Ride, WrestleMania 33. But after resorting to extreme tactics, he may be in for a fight he’s not expecting.

Over the course of a wild week, The Phenomenal One went from having no WrestleMania match to having no job, to having a WrestleMania match against the man in charge of SmackDown LIVE, Shane McMahon.

Fueled by his belief that management was working against him, Styles ambushed the Commissioner of Team Blue in a parking garage on the March 14 edition of SmackDown LIVE, viciously slamming his head through a car window. SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan fired Styles, but that didn’t deter McMahon from limping his way into the arena to demand a showdown with his assailant.

Whether Styles’ claims of upper management not supporting him are true (for the record, Bryan says McMahon was a consistent advocate of Styles as The Road to WrestleMania was being paved), The Phenomenal One is intent on taking out his anger. To hear the newly reinstated Styles explain it, unleashing a WrestleMania beatdown on the Commissioner is something he is very much looking forward to.

Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles

McMahon, however, is not one to be underestimated. Though not an in-ring competitor by trade, Shane-O-Mac is notoriously courageous any time he steps through the ropes. Factor in his now-undisguised contempt for Styles and The Prodigal Son is ready to go all out at WrestleMania. That was obvious on the March 21 edition of SmackDown Live when McMahon flew through the air and elbow dropped Styles through the announce desk.

Will AJ Styles dish out pain against the Commissioner at WrestleMania? Or can Shane McMahon make the elite Superstar pay for crossing the line?

Raw Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax (Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match)

Raw Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax (Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match) Nia Jax is eliminated after the three other women gang up on her. Sasha Banks is eliminated by Charlotte. RESULT:  Bayley via pinfall. THOUGHTS:  So happy Bayley didn't drop the title to Charlotte. There is a recap of the Hall of Fame class of 2017. Hours before defending the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, Bayley tweeted that she watched The Show of Shows as a child and felt like it was on another planet. At 2017’s edition of WrestleMania, Bayley was the center of the WWE Universe, and a childhood dream became reality as she successfully defended her title in a grueling Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match, defeating Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax.  01:22 Raw Women's Champion Bayley defends her title against Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax: Courtesy of the award-winning WWE Network. Seth Rollins vs. Triple H (Non-Sanctioned Match)

Seth Rollins vs. Triple H (Non-Sanctioned Match) RESULT : Seth Rollins via pinfall. THOUGHTS : Very surprised no Samoa Joe and Finn Balor here, along with Stephanie taking the table bump and the match being as good as it was. Pretty awesome, overall.  The King has been slain, and “The Man” is free once again. Seth Freakin’ Rollins redesigned his outlook and rebuilt his pride at WrestleMania, defeating his former mentor Triple H in a Non-Sanctioned Match that finally allowed The Architect to free himself of The Game’s influence once and for all. Rollins’ mission was clear from the start. After The King of Kings entered on a chopper — with Stephanie McMahon on the back and a full police escort — Rollins carried a torch to the ring, symbolic of his oft-stated promise to burn his opponent to the ground. From there, he immediately made good on the leeway The Game’s Hold Harmless Agreement afforded him, driving Triple H out of the ring and over the barricade. Triple

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Austin Aries (Kickoff Match)

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Austin Aries (Kickoff Match) : WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville def. Austin Aries To quote a line from the classic TV series, “The Wire,” “If you come at the king, you best not miss.” Well, Austin Aries connected at the WrestleMania Kickoff. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough to pry the WWE Cruiserweight Championship away from Neville. The WWE 205 Live Superstars left no stone unturned – or thrilling manoeuvre untried – as they battled to stand atop the Cruiserweight mountain. The King of the Cruiserweights attempted to wear down Aries, but A-Double – who had only recently returned to ring action after a severe eye injury kept him sidelined for months – was relentless in his pursuit of the purple and silver crown. Time and again, he fired back with reckless abandon, including a major Missile Dropkick that connected flush right on Neville’s royal chin. As the contest progressed, Aries survived two absolutely gnarly German
